Anna Qu and Jacquira Díaz

As part of The Beverly Theater grand opening weekend, Anna Qu and Jacquira Díaz will read from and discuss their work in conversation.

Anna Qu is a Chinese American writer. Her critically acclaimed debut memoir, Made In China: A Memoir of Love and Labor, was named a New York Times Editors’ Choice pick. Her work has appeared in Threepenny Review, Lumina, Kartika, and Kweli Journal, among others. She holds an MFA in Creative Nonfiction from Sarah Lawrence College and teaches at New England College and Monmouth University. She’s currently working on a novel and collection of essays.

Jaquira Díaz is the author of Ordinary Girls: A Memoir, a Summer/Fall 2019 Indies Introduce Selection, a Fall 2019 Barnes & Noble Discover Great New Writers Selection, a November 2019 Indie Next Pick, and a Library Reads October pick. Ordinary Girls was listed as one of the Must-Read Books of 2019 by O: The Oprah Magazine, Time, Bustle, Electric Literature, Publishers Weekly, The Millions, The Week, Good Housekeeping, and others.
