Black Women in Music

March 9 at 7:00 pm - 8:00 pm

Free

Celebrate Women’s History Month with a show dedicated to the history of Black women in music. Recording artist Patrice Isley plans to take her audience on a musical journey through time highlighting some of the most influential Black women in music history. She will touch on Mamie Smith, the first Black woman to ever record in a studio back in 1920, selling over a million copies her first year. And she’ll feature works by Aretha Franklin, Whitney Houston, Beyoncé, and more. For more information on Patrice Isley, visit her website here.
