The driving force behind the ensemble is Grammy- and Emmy-nominated trumpeter and arranger Greg Adams, a founding member of Tower of Power. Greg’s percussive horn arrangements have backed up luminaries such as Santana, Elton John, Rod Stewart, Huey Lewis and The News, The Rolling Stones, Luther Vandross, Linda Rondstadt, Wilson Picket, Little Feat and Lyle Lovett to name a few. Filling out the sound for East Bay Soul is Terrell Edwards (lead vocals) Michael Stever (trumpet, flugelhorn), Johnnie Bamont (alto, tenor and baritone sax, flute, and background vocals), Ed Wynne (alto, tenor sax, flute and background vocals), Nick Milo (keys), Richard Smith (guitar), Del Atkins (bass), and Herman Matthews (drums).
