Henderson Juneteenth Festival

The city of Henderson’s Juneteenth commemoration begins with a flag raising ceremony from 2 to 3 p.m. Monday, June 5, at Henderson City Hall and culminates in three days of music, community and cultural celebration running June 16-19, marking the emancipation of enslaved African Americans in the United States.

Highlights of Water Street Amphitheater events include: Leslie McCurdy presenting “The Spirit of Harriet Tubman” at 7:30 p.m. Friday, June 16;

Dr Richard L. Hodges performing “Songs of Freedom” in cooperation with Vegas City Opera at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, June 17;

The finale is a celebration of live music, poetry and exhibits featuring National Youth Poet Laureate Alyssa Gaines, OKCello, and The Woody Woods Quartet at 5:30 p.m. Monday, June 19.
