In Stretch Marks, Jean Munson invites readers to join her on a personal journey through different stages of her life where people have made her feel flawed because of her stretch marks. The comic reflects on the impact of body shaming and how important it is to love oneself in a world that often tells us we are not good enough.
Munson is a feminist Filipina activist and cartoonist who uses comics to empower underrepresented communities. She co-founded Plot Twist Publishing and Comics and Zines Las Vegas, where she teaches workshops on comic and zine creation. Munson is also a part-time professor and a graduate student in counseling, and she works to promote comic literacy and creativity in underserved communities.
