The four-day Nevada Women’s Film Festival showcases films with a strong female presence, women at the helm, stories that depict women in a positive light and which display diversity of worldview, background and experience. This year, the event takes place at the UNLV Department of Film and features 109 films, by and about women, from all over the world. Highlights include our 2023 Nevada Woman of Achievement, Berenice Chávez, who will be honored for her outstanding work as an editor. Berenice’s credits include the Netflix documentary, Pamela, a Love Story. A special screening of this film will be shown in conjunction with a conversation with Berenice on Friday night.
Other festival events include our Saturday night Filmmakers Mixer and our Sunday panel: Women & Mental Health in the Film Industry. Our festival concludes on Sunday with the Ninth Annual Femmy Awards.
