For the season finale, the Las Vegas Philharmonic, led by conductor Donato Cabrera, plans to present Tchaikovsky’s impassioned “Fourth Symphony,” plus Sibelius’s patriotic tone poem, “Finlandia,” and Prokofiev’s “Piano Concerto No. 3 in C Major, Op. 26” featuring pianist Ilya Yakushev. Yakushev took his first prize at 12 in a Young Artists Concerto Competition in his native Russia and went on to win the 2005 World Piano Competition in Cincinnati, Ohio. Since then he’s been performing with symphonies and philharmonics around the world.
