Some Treasures Are Heavy

This is a musical tribute to Las Vegas’s history and triumphs as The Desert Winds, under the direction of Artistic Director Dr. Charles A. Maguire, celebrates its 15th season. The concert features emotional pieces like John Mackey’s reflective Oct. 1 tribute, “Some Treasures are Heavy with Human Tears” and festive tunes like Ron Nelson’s “Rocky Point Holiday.” You’ll also hear Adam Gorb’s tribute to American Musical Comedy legends in “AWADAY” and Gustav Holst’s timeless “First Suite in E-flat.” This event weaves Las Vegas’s past with global resilience, offering a night of reflection and outstanding music.
