May 28, 2023 at 7:30 pm - 8:45 pm

Free

Now entering its second decade, the Tesla Quartet performs regularly across North America and Europe, with recent highlights including their debut at Lincoln Center, a return to Wigmore Hall, and performances at Stanford University’s Bing Concert Hall as winners of the prestigious John Lad Prize. Other recent international engagements include tours of Brazil, China, and South Korea. The Tesla Quartet  — made up of Ross Snyder (violin), Michelle Lie (violin), Edwin Kaplan (viola), and its newest member Austin Fisher (cello) — is focusing efforts in the coming seasons on inspiring climate action with the commissions of several full length works for string quartet, including Jeff Nytch’s piece decrying deforestation, “Song of the Lorax.” Pieces planned for the Las Vegas concerts include: Alistair Coleman’s “Moonshot;” Beethoven’s “Molto adagio from String Quartet in E minor, Op. 59, No. 2, ‘Razumovsky'”; Garth Knox’s “Satellites;” and  Bobby Ge’s “Celeste Forma.”
