August 29-September 21: First-degree felon or not, you’re likely to love Adam Dunson as Monty Navarro, that pesky relative who won't let anything or anyone get in his way in "Gentleman’s Guide to Love and Murder,"the last show of Super Summer Theatre's season. Adam's foil is actor Glenn Heath, who is willing to sacrifice just about anything for his craft: his time, his facial hair and even his life … make that lives ... as he masters the art of the death scene playing every member of the doomed D’Ysquith family, even the women.
Aye Carumba! It's the Apocalypse
September 12-21: When all is lost after the collapse of civilization, a group of survivors bonds over the ultimate villain in UNLV's "Mr. Burns, A Post-Electric Play" After all, just because the WiFi isn't working doesn't mean "The Simpsons" won't go on.
The Show That Shall Not Die
September 13-November 9: Just when you thought it was safe to relax at Majestic Repertory Theatre ... "Scream'd: An Unauthorized Musical Parody" is back and just as bludgeony as ever. Written and directed by Majestic's own Troy Heard, with music arrangements by Brandon Scott Grayson and choreography by Noah Rivera, the show features a pop playlist accompanied by a live band.
Cherish Cher's Show
September 17-22: Do you believe in life after love? You will at "The Cher Show," a Tony Award-winning musical packed with 35 of Cher's hits documenting six decades of her star power. Disclosure: Cher herself does not appear in the show. But if you're willing to settle for tributes decked out in Bob Mackie gowns, you'll be dazzled.
Family-friendly comedy night
September 7: Cathy Ladman and Rondell Sheridan are headed to Henderson for a family-friendly outdoor comedy show at the Water Street Plaza Amphitheater.
Help End Childhood Cancer
September 14: Brave souls are encouraged to shed their heads of hair to raise funds for research to help end childhood cancer at shave events throughout the country like the St. Baldrick's event at McMullan's Irish Pub in Las Vegas.
Swing It! Girls at the Fun Fair
September 7: Young and old and everyone in between can paint, watch shadow puppets, get health and fitness tips, and jam to live music by the Swing It! Girls in concert at the West Charleston Library's Be Well Fun Fair.
Creepy collectibles
September 14-15: Indulge your curiosity in this visiting show full of bones, taxidermy, haunted antiques, fine arts, and handcrafted wacky wonders at the Oddities & Curiosities Expo visiting the Expo at World Market Center.
Over and Under the Canyon at Red Rock
September 7: The first 30 cars to enter the fee booth at Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area get in free for this Las Vegas-Clark County Library District book walk event based on Kate Messner's picture book, "Over and Under the Canyon" illustrated by Christopher Silas Neal. If you're not among the first 30, it's $20 to enter. The walk will start at the Visitor Center and travel a half mile out and back on the Moenkopi Loop.
Free folk fiddle concert
September 5-6: Marina Pendleton plans a crowd-pleasing mix of Appalachian and American roots music with fiddle, vocals and acoustic guitar. Catch one of two free concerts at local libraries.
Princess Power
September 6-7: A cast of stellar singers is set to present classic and contemporary Disney hits in Enchanted Melodies: Disney in Song, a free musical revue presented by Huntsman Entertainment.
Fiesta Folklorico
September 13: Celebrate Hispanic/Latino Heritage Month with Fiesta Folklorico at the Whitney Library. The free visual showcase is set to present dances from multiple regions such as Jalisco, Sinoloa and Nayarit.
Irish instruments
September 11: Explore Irish music, culture and more as the internationally acclaimed group Celtic Thunder visits The Smith Center.
