The kings of demon drag are here 👑

SO TECHNICALLY FALL isn't until September 42nd or something but I'm taking any remotely perceivable dip in temperature toward "reasonably survivable" as equinoctial sanction to independently declare a change in seasons. Basically, it's fall enough for me! Which, as far as I'm concerned, adds a touch of emphatic, cyclical zhuzh to this week's slate of recommendations, from metal nerd standup comedy to velvety jazz to old-school Greek tragedy that's, gulp, suddenly relevant again. Cheers! – Andrew Kiraly 🤍

🍿 Plot Twisted
No lie, one of my somewhat embarrassing secret emo pastimes is getting my late-night weep on with a juicy Ingmar Bergman flick; perhaps counterbalancing that, tho, is my penchant for a hysterical, pretzel-plotted Shyamalan thriller. So, kinda stoked to check out Trap. Better yet, I plan to catch it Aug. 4 at Downtown Cinemas with a live post-flick podcast by the film brainiacs at Piecing It Together.
