From Broadway-caliber productions at The Smith Center, Las Vegas Little Theatre, and Spring Mountain Ranch State Park to free shows at local libraries, there's something for every taste and budget.
Free Fun at a Library Near You
August 4: Why not take a chance on “Songs in the Key of J,” a one-man cabaret concert by J. Chang-Tablada, a queer singer and pianist of Filipino, Korean, and Irish descent. He vows to launch the free afternoon Clark County Library show with a ballad his Filipino grandparents performed when they jazzed it up in 1940s Hawaii.
August 2-4: Mike Oregano, too, is master of the one-man-band and is bringing his blend of reggae, hip-hop and jazz out for three free library concerts.
August 2: Mexican American group SECOS will explore themes of love, desire, and despair in the city of sin in a free alt rock concert at the Windmill Library.
August 6: Catch the reception for Nicky Koutsoumbas’ “Concluding Chapters” photography exhibit at the East Las Vegas Library.
July 30: Dan Santat, winner of the National Book Award for Young People’s Literature for his graphic novel memoir “A First Time for Everything” and the Caldecott for “Beekle: The Unimaginary Friend,” will NOT be here in person, but if you register to “attend” his Las Vegas-Clark County Library District virtual author talk event you can submit a question.
