Join the Nevada Democracy Project, a collaboration between Vegas PBS and The Nevada Independent, for a Community Listening Session. The media organizations plan to host regular community listening sessions to help listeners and readers engage. Discussions could result in in-depth story coverage on Vegas PBS’ weekly public affairs show Nevada Week and in The Nevada Independent. The first Community Listening Session, at the West Charleston Library in November 2023, generated a spirited conversation that touched on issues of racism and its effects on urban development, law enforcement and more. Organizers, led by moderators Amber Renee Dixon and Naoka Foreman, are hoping this second session provides another opportunity for members of the community to share what they feel matters most. The session will be hosted in the Student Union Ballrooms U126 and U128. Doors open at 5:30 p.m.
