Berlioz & Beethoven

The UNLV Symphony Orchestra (artistic director Taras Krysa) performs a program including Berlioz’s Roman Carnival Overture, Mozart’s Horn Concerto No. 4 with soloist Bill Bernatis, and Beethoven’s Symphony No. 7 conducted by Lawrence Loh.

Additionally, the final concert of every year for UNLV’s Symphony Orchestra is a showcase for the student winner of UNLV’s Concerto Competition. Who is this year’s winner? And what kind of work did they compose? Find out as the orchestra’s artistic director Taras Krysa, leads the group in special concert on March 27. The UNLV Symphony Orchestra is comprised of undergraduate and graduate music majors, minors, and non-music majors performing a variety of standard symphonic orchestral repertoire, ranging from early Baroque through modern contemporary in as many as eight programs a season.
