Henderson Symphony Orchestra

June 2 at 7:30 pm - 9:00 pm

Free

Alexandra Arrieche will conduct as the Henderson Symphony Orchestra’s season finale opens with a new piece by Mason Bates inspired by Steve Jobs. The free concert also brings back one of the symphony audienceโ€™s favorite heroes, pianist Michael Sheppard. Sheppard will be performing Rachmaninoffโ€™s “Piano Concerto No.3,” which is considered one of the most difficult concerti to be performed. This concerto was the center of the movie โ€œShineโ€ featuring Geoffrey Rush as the pianist and David Helfgott, who won an Academy Award for his role. Sheppard has performed solo recitals and concertos around the world including several solo Weill (Carnegie) Hall recitals and a solo Kennedy Center debut.ย
