Is the passion for creating art hereditary? The answer may be found in the works of the Las Vegas Jones family. The father, Sean C. Jones, is joined by his two sons, Dylan and Andrew, in their own unique works tied by an inclination for figurative works and often subtle sense of humor.
The three Joneses insist on continuing the traditional forms of media to bridge the past of art history against the overwhelming abundance of digital technology. However, each generation of the Joneses explores these practices in their own way.
All natives of Las Vegas, Nevada, father Sean C. Jones, who received a BA in Art from UNLV, is a longtime fixture in the local art scene and has been a public school art teacher for over 25 years. Dylan Jones is a graduate of the Las Vegas Academy of Art and is receiving his BFA in Art from UNLV while displaying his work and curating many local art shows. Andrew Jones is a graduate of the Las Vegas Academy of Art and currently lives in Portland, Oregon, where the greener climate influences his art.
Open reception: January 12th, 6-8pm. The exhibition runs through February 23rd, with a closing reception on that date from 6-8pm.
