Living With Wildlife

Learn about the wildlife found near the Las Vegas Valley, why it comes into your neighborhood, and what to do in order to prevent human-wildlife conflict. This 60 minute monthly programs are presented by the Nevada Department of Wildlife and targeted at an adult audience but open to all.

Upcoming sessions include:

Feb. 15: Fish Food: What do fish really eat and why do they chase lures? Learn about the food web in our local fishy waters, then make your own spinner.

March 14: Beginner Birding: Are you interested in learning about our local birds and don’t know where to start? Take this beginner birding course where organizers will discuss what birding is, what tools you need and some basic methods for identification.

April 18: Living With Wildlife – Birds: Has a duck turned your backyard into its new home?  Learn about some of the different bird species you may see in your neighborhood, what to do if you find a baby bird on the sidewalk, how to discourage wildlife from getting too cozy in your yard, and more.

May 9: Living With Wildlife – Reptiles: Has a slithering snake moved in next door? Learn about some of the different reptile species you may see in your neighborhood, what to do when you come across a scaly friend.
