From Amanda Kettler’s artist’s statement: “I grew up in Virginia, and my family and I would spend every summer in Virginia Beach. We left Virginia in 1998, but my father and I have continued our summer tradition almost every year since. I love to create art that shows a special place that I have traveled to with a loved one. Time goes by so fast so I think making this art helps me hold onto my happy memories. My dad and I also love to trade photos we take of sunrises or sunsets, and it is wonderful to have someone that has such enthusiasm for the beauty of nature to share with. I have painted two of his sunrise/ sunset photos that he has sent me. I like to paint big vast open skies and oceans that seem to represent a world of endless possibilities.” On exhibit through September 12/
