Originally from Senegal, Djibrilย NโDoye is well known for his wood burning expertise. This body of artwork honors the Dogon people in Mali, who are known all over the world for their collectable wood carvings, terra cotta, and bronze sculptures. The Dogon bring a large-scale contribution to the art world and also to African Symbolism.
The country of Dogon is now overrun by terrorists who have destroyed and vandalized artwork and historical archives in the name of religion. A society without culture will not thrive. This exhibit is a tribute to the people and the art of Dogon. It will remain up through Black History Month. On exhibit through March 23, 2024.
