Farce be with you: R2, I don't think we're on Tattooine anymore. In burlesque parody The Empire Strips Back, opening May 1 at The Rio, the galaxy far, far away is rife with salacious stormtroopers, vixenish space villains, and enough interstellar innuendo to make Yoda blush.

THERE'S MORE THAN one way to catch a buzz – and this is the week to catch 'em all. Whether your pleasure center's piqued from a nice pinot, a kicky convo about Vegas history, or some sultry, spectral rock 'n' roll, we've got it on tap. Cheers! – Andrew Kiraly 🤍

Game face: Lowkey embarrassed to admit this, but I'd never played live poker with friends until about a year ago. Lol, during one game I pulled off an epic single-use meta-bluff (basically, pretended to try to stifle [fake] delight at a good [but actually awful] hand) and won, nice, like, $120. If you're a bumbling noob like me, try your hand at Free Poker League on Thursdays at Fergusons Downtown ✦ Curiously, the Luxor's esports thunderdome HyperX Arena hosts a decidedly low-tech game midweek: Mahjong Social on Wednesdays ✦ Any other game in the universe you may wanna roll the dice on is very likely at OG board game shop + hangout Meepleville.

💃 The Writhe Stuff

I often marvel at the tireless cultural limberness of burlesque: It can wrap its legs around any conceit, theme, or gimmick you throw at it. To my point, this weekend is rippling with a rainbow feather boa of themes: Séduction Féroce May 3 sounds like a carnal carnival, a blend of tassel-twirling shimmy and circus-style acrobatics at Jackpot Bar & Grill ✦ Endless Night Vampire Ball at Fremont Country Club sinks its teeth into striptease culture with undead go-go dancers bedecked in bondage lingerie ✦ Celebrating May the Fourth? Let your light saber rise to the occasion at Star Whores Barlesque May 4 at The Space ✦ Fans of classic bump-and-grind aren't left out: Tease May 3 at The Space is a chesty revue with a big heart beneath, raising funds for the nonprofit Burlesque Hall of Fame.

🛻 The Junk Drawer

This old-young-person-yells-at-internet piece has the ring of a manifesto to me re: AI letting us "become" anything without the work ✦ I'd happily drive this anti-futuristic $20,000 digital detox truck ✦ The only bumper sticker Tesla owners should have ✦ I didn't think my chess game could get any worse, but it just did by a factor of a million.
