Slam poetry: For my dollar, there's no better therapy than the cathartic, cortisol-cleansing spectacle of watching garishly costumed meatlords settle their differences in the ring. Graphouse is just one of several brawl promoters exploding in Vegas' resurgent indie wrestling scene. Two Words Feb. 22 at The Space marks its sweat-streaked season premiere.

WHERE THERE'S A whim, there's a way – especially this week, stuffed with spontaneous happenings, from audience-driven improv to live-paint art auctions to trivia nights with a freewheeling theatrical bent. We are not making this up. Cheers! – Andrew Kiraly 🤍

🚗 Toying With You

No lie – and probs a commentary on my frozen state of emotional maturity – but even as a purported adult person I still get droolingly transfixed in the toy aisle when I stand before a wall of intricately gleaming Hot Wheels, even if they're probably wafting Chinese microplastics right into my brain stem. Tiny carheads are in luck this weekend when the 2025 Diecast Super Convention hits Ahern Feb. 20-23. It promises not just micro-rides from Hot Wheels and Matchbox, but also hyper-detailed collectibles from ascendant brands such as Greenlight and Nvrland. If diecast cars aren't exactly your plaything, hit the one-day 2025 Las Vegas Toy Show Feb. 23.

🧼 The Junk Drawer

I have to remind myself 17,213 times a day that corporations are definitively sociopathic entities that don't have souls or consciences, but, hey, props to soap king Dr. Bronner for making mad suds over the dilution of B Corp standards ✦ Mesmerized by the ghostly, poignant visions of blind painter Bianca Raffaella ✦ Hm, travel-wise, looks like I'll be sticking to scenic-route road trips for a while ✦ Okay, sure, this is commodifying dissent, whatevz, but for a good cause. Plus I love books and hate Nazis aka you-know-who Here's a loose-knit, firecracker-string YouTube hot take-alysis that feels worth the effort: Trying hard is cool again. Enough aura, enough bare minimum, and more maximum maxed-out maximality!

Past Lives: Sill’s Drive-In, c. 1952. The first 24-hour drive-in restaurant in Las Vegas, Sill's was located at 1100 South 5th Street (Las Vegas Boulevard) and Charleston Boulevard. It was opened by the Sill family in 1942. It became the site of a storied murder when Rev. T. Malcolm Jones of Christ Church Episcopal was shot and killed by parishioner Ray Smith on Jan. 19, 1955. (Past Lives is a partnership with Vintage Las Vegas.)
