The Asylum Theatre’s Artistic Director, Sarah O’Connell, is set to direct and produce a performance featuring local performers from the local arts and culture community in a celebration of free expression, our First Amendment, and the books that empower us. Banned Books Week celebrates the freedom to read, and spotlights attempts to censor books in libraries and schools. In a time of intense political polarization, library staff in every state are facing an unprecedented number of attempts to ban books.
